one of my oldest and strongest kins. i am 100% confident that i lived a life as him in the past. my boyfriend is kin with his partner, conway, and together we have pieced together many of the details surrounding that life.

they, in their authentic forms, can be found in our main EVJ AU, after kalos - they are faithful to how we remember it, although most things in AK (especially those that do not pertain to barry or conway) are fictional and determined by us.

if you aren't yet familiar with barry as a character i'll help you out! he's a rival of ash ketchum's in the pokemon diamond & pearl anime - showing up quite late in the series. he's loud, brash and has a habit of threatening to fine people for being too slow. he believes himself to be a rival of ash's main rival of the series, paul, although it seems to be incredibly one-sided. he's funny and epic and also really cool and powerful by the way.

while the further details of his life beyond the canon anime are too expansive to cover here, i will give you a few to start
• he moves to kalos shortly after his appearance in the anime, eventually dating miette

• he becomes a flying type specialist and the ambrette town gym leader

• he becomes close friends with paul who is also living in kalos along with ash
• he meets conway in his early 20’s and barry proceeds to have a messy on-and-off relationship with both him and miette

• when they settle down, they eventually have two children together - kirkland paul quinn (kirk) and virginia dawn quinn (ginny).

• kirk becomes the operator to his ranger girlfriend (helia, daughter of ash and paul) and ginny eventually becomes a water type gym leader in lumiose city

sorry for the 50 year old spoilers

ryo is the secondary protagonist and later primary antagonist of go nagai's 1972 manga, devilman. the work has been adapted like a billion times, but the version of him that i am talking about here is his original incarnation, as well as the one seen in the "devilman: the birth" OVA produced in 1987. the OVA is the adaptation that most closely follows the storyline and character traits found in the original manga (although there are still some differences), so i consider them largely the same.

ryo is a powerfully strong kin of mine. my boyfriend is kin with akira and we like to pretend that they were ever happy together, but unfortunately that isn't how it went. i halfway named myself after him, as the "roy" in edroy is a corruption of "ryo". i also hope to some day get a tattoo of one of his quotes from the OVA dub.

at the start of the story, ryo is introduced as akira (the main character)'s, best friend. he is charming and confident, and self-admittedly "crazy". he comes into akira's life to recruit him in his fight against demonkind, quickly turning akira into "devilman" by letting him fuse with a powerful demon. together they hunt demons down and kill them until ryo is contacted by one and his memories of being satan are returned to him.

it is revealed that as satan, he lead a revolt against god and while he, along with the demons, were defeated, they've lied dormant for millions of years to emerge now with their master plan to take over the earth. satan had fallen in love with one man on earth, and chose to briefly become a human in order to both learn about humans and their weaknesses, as well as to be close to that man - akira. the story ends in tragedy as the fight lasts for years and eventually satan's army wins - resulting in the bitter death of devilman along with the rest of humanity.

according to nagai, ryo had been meant to be killed off early in the story, but he was resurrected following reader outcry. nagai has said that he himself wasn't even aware of the twist that ryo was satan until it came time to write it, as if ryo was directing the plot on his own.

even though you've just had the twist and ending spoiled for you i still think that if you can stomach its contents, devilman is an extremely worthwhile read and you should go do that right now.

sooooo luka is a side character from the 2015 hit show miraculous ladybug. despite only having had him in my life for 2 years at this point he has completely ruined me.

he's literally just some guy. he's marinette's ex, he's the holder of the snake miraculous and he's the son of a pirate and a world famous rock star. he plays guitar and has a band with his twin sister and a few of their friends.

okay sorry but it's realtalk time now. somewhat recently i figured out why something about luka and his fate as a character was driving me nuts. turns out that in my personal experience, the miraculouses slowly corrupt the user with every use. since his grants him the power to loop time ad infinitum, he quickly racks up more usage than any other user.

he starts noticing more snake-like features begin to manifest. things like fangs, a forked tongue, colder blood and heightened senses. along with this comes an even scarier realization - the urge to hunt and consume prey miraculous holders. his shame at having developed these traits sends him into complete isolation and it continues to do so many times throughout his life.

during the first of these isolation periods he started dating felix as a last-ditch attempt at making a friend who did not previously know him. he then remains the most consistent partner he has, laboriously helping him overcome this shame and isolation time and time again. everyone say thank you felix.

otto octavius/doc ock

dr. otto octavius is the main antagonist of 2004's spider-man 2. he starts as a friendly scientist with lofty goals of creating an infinite power source to save humanity. his iconic bionic tentacle arms were engineered to aid him in this goal. his hubris is his downfall as it results in an accident that both kills his wife as well as allows the arms to take over, turning him into the villain "doc ock".

i know it's corny but for me he's bi and transsexual. he had something going on with norman in college but after that they really were just good friends.

go watch this movie whether you've seen it or not already.
this is an order

funny story about this one. i didn't grow up with the sam raimi spider-man films, but probably around a decade ago now i did watch the first and third movies with my friends which i ended up loving. for some reason they insisted that the second one wasn't very necessary to watch, so we just didn't? fast forward to when spider-man: no way home came out. i went to the theater with a friend, completely convinced that what i was about to see was the spider-verse sequel. i was pretty confused when it started and was definitely not animated but i'd seen the first MCU spider-man so it wasn't a big deal. then doc ock shows up and i get this twisting pain in my gut that's like i'm personally embarrassed by everything happening to this character i've never seen before. it feels that way for the whole thing and by the end i know that i'll have to go back and properly watch spider-man 2 for the first time. when i did... i proceeded to watch it, i think, 12 times in 2 weeks. it was obvious to me that for all that time i'd been missing out on an extremely strong kin hiding in plain sight.

thaaaat being said, i do not claim the MCU version of him from no way home. that simply did not happen to me. i treat it like a bad fanfiction that i can kind of have fun with but overall is not right.

jimmie "rocket man" zara

so have you ever seen the 2008 blockbuster disney film "high school musical 3"? and if so, did you actually remember this guy existed? anyway.

jimmie "rocket man" zara is a side character in the aforementioned movie who first appears as a member of the wildcats basketball team. he is given the chance to shoot the winning basket in the last game of the year and he makes it. throughout the rest of the film, jimmie shows up on occasion to both fanboy at troy as well as flirt with both sharpay and his co-freshman, tiara. he shows up for around 10 minutes of a 112 minute movie and his greatest impact is being troy's understudy in the senior year spring musical who delivers a bombastic and awkward performance with sharpay.

for some Fucking Reason i am kin with this guy. i kin him extremely hard, actually. i did not ask for this. i would never ask for this.

jimmie unfortunately features prominently in my project "dcomcu". in it, the worlds of 6 different disney channel original movies are merged into one, and only a few characters are privy to this fact. jimmie is one of these characters, cursed with the knowledge that this world is affected by "musical magic" and that certain people are destined to be "main characters" while the others are made for bit and background parts.

he grows resentful of troy for this, believing that troy wasted his opportunities and that jimmie would have used that kind of power more responsibly. he ends up becoming a major villain and a serious threat to the world of dcomcu.

oh, erm, also, have you heard of the game disney princess: enchanted journey for wii? the big bad of that game is named zara and because one of the worlds merged into dcomcu is descendants, me and my boyfriend thought it would be funny to make her his mother.

now we joke constantly that he has the power to summon "bogs" and freeze time and Steal Color? this is integral to his character, you have to understand this about him. troy bolton will never be a princess.

gonna be honest, this one's new to me. i've never finished a sonic game and the only sonic show i've watched and finished is sonic underground. i have, however, been a huge fan of the song infinite and grew quite attached to the titular character featured in it. i knew he was edgy and somewhat popular but not much else other than what the lyrics said.

pretty recently i decided to delve into sonic generally and so i finally researched more into infinite as a character. with a bit more context i realized, reluctantly, that i think i am this guy. sorry.

if YOU are unfamiliar, he's an antagonist from 2017's sonic forces (the game where you can make your own sonic oc Lol). he is a former mercenary turned eggman-collaborator whose only goal in life is to attain as much power as he can. that's it. he was once defeated by shadow, so he hates him specifically. he dies at the end of the game and has never been seen since. he isn't a very well-written character.

i do feel extremely emo about him. he's cis but has a deadname because he didn't want to be "zero" anymore so he named himself infinite. the source of his power causes him physical pain but he pushed through because he's so determined to own it. he wants to be the most powerful being in the world so he willingly submits to another mans orders and doesn't question it. something is so severely wrong with him. but whatever.

red

red is one of the main protagonists of descendants: rise of red (the fourth in the franchise, and the first in a new arc). she is the daughter of the queen of hearts, making her the princess of wonderland.

off the bat i have to make it clear that the version of red that i kin is specifically the one seen in pre-release promotional materials as well as most of the music that features her as opposed to the red seen in the actual film. it sounds goofy to separate them at first but hear me out.

i grew extremely attached to this version of red in the lead-up to release day and was practically already kin with her.

prior to the full release of rise of red, several of its songs (as well as promo-only songs not featured in the movie) were posted as well as many trailers. in all of these, we see a red who is confident, rebellious, and sure of herself and her stance on her mother's tyrannical dictatorship. not only that, but the plot itself is implied to have been entirely different if the trailers are to be taken at face value.

when i watched the movie for the first time, i realized that they, for whatever reason, went an entirely different direction with her. i do not actually hate the official red - i don't think her personality is a bad one for a descendants movie, but i do find it baffling that they kept the music as-is and let it stand beside a completely different version of her who is, for lack of a better word, totally lame.

it's jarring to see her go from singing about standing up to the regime to her awkwardly deciding whether or not she should follow her mother's orders to execute a man.

i've got my own little rewrite of the movie in the works that will fit into my larger project known as dcomcu. i'm aiming to piece together the threads we still have from the music and promotional material to create a much more cohesive plot with more solid characterization all around. so maybe one day i'll be able to link to that here for your enjoyment. for now, all you have is my ramblings.

non'na

non'na is, by some definitions, my very first kin. i genuinely think that i knew i lived this kind of life as far back as preschool. for this reason i'm also near-certain that this was my most recent past life.

non'na represents a collection of memories that i am as close to certain are real as one can get. there is no vocal synth who matches her descriptions perfectly, so i use non'na as a stand-in.

here is what i know:
• vocal synth licensed by AHS
• kimono-style outfit with large skirt that contains some kind of musical interface & sleeves with a ribbon that ends in a bow
• warm color palette containing red, orange and yellow
• higher-pitched, sharp but powerful voice
• hair with multiple lengths, bangs, and an agoge on top
• pointed, elf-like ears and stylized single fang
• fox tail

back when i was first putting together the details of this life after learning what otherkin was in 2013/14, i was certain that in the timeline i was from, in the current lineup of vocaloid products, the one that i was had not been released yet. i had all of these traits in mind from the start and they haven't wavered in certainty.

i now believe that in this current day and age, she would have been released. in fact, i am pretty sure she has been released, in a way.

the kimono outfit in the exact correct colors with light-up features, the large ribboned sleeves, the yellow-orange eyes, one sharp tooth, curved ahoge in the exact right spot. down to even the pointed ears, she is shockingly similar to non'na. i believe that if i hadn't remembered this life as early as i had, i would have kinned tsuina-chan instead, perhaps feeling that certain details were off somehow. the largest incongruency is the lack of tail, and that's a bit of a deal-breaker for me.

tsuina-chan is an AHS vocal synth first released for synthV in 2019 and later for vocaloid 6. her resemblance to non'na is absolutely striking.

i feel something strange about the way that i genuinely kind of predicted this synth's release, down to the exact studio that would produce her. that's crazy, isn't it? i don't know i feel like something seriously happened here.

if you'd like to listen to her, here's my favorite cover using her. this is exactly the correct voice i had always envisioned for non'na.

alright, we're gonna get into genuine spirtuality territory now. you gotta promise to be nice, okay? thank you.

the life that i lived was not just as a similar "character" to this, but as an actual vocal synth android. it was a world where the aim of vocal synth technology was to create reproducible popstars. larger society was unaware as to the true level of sentience these AIs had gained and how close to genuine emotions they had started to feel. treatment of them was as that of objects and any resistance to this from them was seen as flaws in code rather than a rights issue.i believe that some kind of rebellion happened involving heavy violence, one where i lasted as long as i could but ultimately did not see the end. i believe i did live longer as donka fjord, another vocal synth that i also believe my soul was split across along with this one. i believe this kind of "soul-splitting" has happened a handful of times to me, but honestly that's an entirely different discussion LOL.

green oak

green, or as you may know him, blue, is the main rival of pokemon red, green and blue as well as their remakes, fire red and leaf green. he makes appearances in several more games across the series. it feels as if he needs no introduction, but i'm getting old and at this point there really is no guarantee you've met this guy before.

debuting as the very first rival anyone ever got to play against, green is arrogant, cocky and rude. he set the standard of rivals choosing to use the type that is strongest against your own partner pokemon and pulled the greatest twist of all time by conquering the league before you could and becoming the first ever final boss champion battle. you may not realize if you're only familiar with subsequent pokemon games, but the only reason you have to beat a champion at all in any of them is because of this guy setting that standard too.

to dig into the meat of his character is to realize how fucked up he really is. he's the grandson of the most famous professor of all time but his own grandfather could almost not care less about him, forgetting he'd even asked him to come by to pick out a starter in favor of red. when he comes to the league after hearing of his grandson's victory, he only arrives after red's already defeated him. he congratulates red and chastises green, telling him he'll never be a champion again if he doesn't love his pokemon, with no prior indication that he doesn't.

all he's ever wanted - ever worked towards - was to be stronger than red. he's proven himself a perfectly capable trainer, but is always defeated by his greatest friend and rival. a legend in his own right, he's still perpetually "second best".

it does not help that he's also madly fucking in love with red, lol. ermmm story for another day, perhaps.

for me he has tourettes syndrome and was bullied for that and other various nonreasons by anyone who wasn't the nonverbal red. he's the black sheep of palette town: not successful enough to shake off his reputation for being offputting and abrasive but just enough to gain some superficial respect. really, to me, he's a deeply frustrated character who tries his damndest to exude as much confidence and charisma as humanly possible to make up for the weird as hell hand that life dealt him.

kinning him is relatively new to me in the scheme of things. it's a bit strange that it took me so long to realize - i've always liked him, especially since i've always been drawn to pokemon rivals as a class. i think something intimidated me about him, with him being such an integral cornerstone of pokemon as a franchise and one of the most beloved and belothed characters in videogame history. i felt disconnected in the sense that i'd feel something deep in my gut while thinking about him, but never thought i could let it mean anything.

what finally broke me was listening to his theme remix from pokemon masters while on a trip in colorado, lol. something hit so completely different to me then that made everything fall into place.

my boyfriend had already kinned red for years but for some reason i just never once considered it? i don't know, man. but as soon as it clicked it was like a dam burst open and now, well, i've already yapped this much. clearly i have a lot to say here.

asking "is anyone gonna punch this guy in the jaw?" and not waiting for an answer.

so first things first, i'm explicitly not kin with deidara as seen in naruto. instead, i kin a modern (real-world) AU version of him, most closely related to the one depicted in "caught you on the flip side", a fanfiction by firely on FFN.

he mirrors canon deidara in a lot of ways, but the key difference that i think a lot about is the fact that he's living well past the age he dies at in canon. in naruto, in an attempt to win a fight against sasuke, he blows himself up along with everything around him at age 19 (he doesn't win. lol).

so a little while ago me and my boyfriend decided to rewatch drake & josh, right? normal thing to do. it's a decent show.

tell me why the hell i came out of it kinning drake parker. i don't know, fuck it. i guess i'm kin with drake parker.

i described it the entire time as a "lukewarm, 4 out of 10" type of kin feeling, but it was one i couldn't technically deny and one that did not go away upon finishing the show. i'm embarrassed to report that distance made the heart grow fonder as prior to making this page it has seemingly risen to like, a 6 on the kin scale.

if you haven't seen the show, i honestly suggest you do since it's a pretty great watch and it's kind of comical to think that anyone reading this hasn't, but i'll give a brief overview anyway?

drake & josh is the 2004 nickelodeon sitcom featuring the titular drake parker and josh nichols navigating their life after becoming brothers following their parents' (drake's mother, josh's father) recent marriage.

drake is the typical idiot ladies' man - he's got charisma and musical talent but no real intelligence or skills, and is impulsive to a fault. josh is booksmart and anxious, and is a complete loser socially. neither of them are sane. shenanigans ensue.

oh also drake's little sister megan is a menace who has fun making their lives worse in increasingly unhinged ways. that's also a thing.

uggghhhh he plays guitar and has a little band and sometimes he gets too attached to girlfriends and fumbles them. what the hell.

i don't even think i have more to say about him. i look at him and i feel something painful in my gut that says i'm him. that's how it works. kill me with knives and hammers.

so lego ninjago is a show about a team of elementally-powered ninja who use a technique known as spinjitzu to defend their city and world from harm. and i happen to be kin with the most annoying shithead out of the whole 19-season behemoth.

joking aside, i am actually quite fond of this freak but being kin with him is a hell i would not wish on anyone else.

jay as a character is difficult for me to explain without including my own kin-canon alongside the canon information, so keep this in mind if you have not watched the show (which you should do).

so back in january 2015, getta ban ban, the second japanese opening for the pokemon xy anime series, debuted. in this opening, for a total of 4 seconds towards the very end, are a few shots of a then unknown and unnamed rival to be featured later in the show. the instant i watched this opening for the first time, i kinned. like, i'm talking immediately.

that's probably the fastest it's even possible to kin a character, and given that i meant it and that it hasn't left me ever since, i think that was a pretty crazy experience LOL

i kept up with the anime in japanese from then on, scouring for more information about him. when he finally did debut i'd watch his scenes and episodes, in unsubbed japanese, over and over. i was there for when the summaries of future dubbed episodes still called him "scottie" (honestly that name still sounds right to me).

sawyer is ash's rival in the sense that he's a big fan of ash and aims to follow in his footsteps by learning to battle as well as him. he's a novice when he's first introduced and by the end of the show, he's competing in the league and holding his own with a mega evolution.

speaking of said mega evolution - i was struggling for a while with the idea that i kinned sawyer's sceptile rather than sawyer himself. but sitting on that question for long enough has lead me to the answer that, as sawyer, i probably had a deep enough connection with it to the point that we could fuse the same as ash and his greninja.

in a way, then, sawyer's soul is bonded to sceptile's.

it probably sounds farfetched given that ash is the only character we've seen being able to do that, but sawyer specifically mirrors ash and rivals his strength and abilities. i don't know why i'm arguing for logistics here, it's my kin.

anyway, beyond that, i most likely became champion of hoenn or something. i have a fondness for what i've done with him in EVJ but i can't really say if any of it feels exactly right or not. i should really figure all of that out some time.

hi, this is candy mane!

she's a background pony in mlp:fim seen in seasons 1 through 5. she got her name from the fandom, and as far as i can tell, i think the animators started putting a piece of candy in her mane as a fun easter egg reference to this name sometimes midway through season 4.

in her final handful of appearances, she's seen standing next to twist on multiple occasions, leading others as well as me to headcanon that the two are sisters. i especially like this because she's sometimes seen with a cutiemark that's identical to the sisterhooves social logo.

to me, her talent is being a good older sister to twist, which may include involving herself in the sisterhooves social itself.

she usually just has a blank flank, though

it's kind of hard to have much more to say about her - she's a pretty normal mare! i've kinned her for forever now, but i've never thought that hard about it. it's more than surface level, so she gets to be here with the other "serious" kins, but that doesn't mean she's very complicated. sometimes you can just be a cute pony.

this is an awkard one to have to write a description for, to be honest. this character is from the music video for the song KAFUKA by sasakure.UK. i don't feel comfortable trying to write an interpretation for the music video or the song myself, as it's an intensely abstract and emotional experience. anything i could say about it would likely be better understood by simply watching the video itself. which i recommend you do:

it's also a little funny to say that i kin this character when we know so little about them. but these things happen, i guess. i just feel it very strongly.

amalgamate

this amalgamate is sometimes known as the "watching man" amalgamate, or other times called the "spoon/spoon man" amalgamate. it appears at the side of the bed in the true lab if you lay down and wait for a few seconds. it stands unmoving until it slowly reaches its arm out to you, at the last second taking the covers and pulling them up to cover you before it vanishes once again.

there is another amalgamate which bears a striking resemblance to the previous, which is much easier to encounter. in order to get the green key which is necessary for progression, you must enter a thin hallway that contains a shower at the end. a shadow figure can be seen undulating behind the curtain, speeding up the closer you get. when you pull the curtain away, it's vanished, leaving the key behind.

best quality: its wiggles

there is one final place that this amalgamate might be found - when entering the room full of refrigerators, it is initially covered in thick fog. when interacting with one of the fridges before the fog clears, the text reads "there's something here... something in the shape of a man". after it clears, there is nothing to be found and there is nothing inside of the fridge.

the vanishing nature along with the fact that there are only maybe two amalgamates which could be classified as being "in the shape of a man", this could very well be the same one as seen in the previous two rooms.

i've been kin with this thing for a long long time now. early on i felt like i was most likely one of the amalgamates, but landed, at first, on snowdrake's mother. this didn't feel quite right of course and so eventually i settled on this. i have a lot of love in my heart for all of them, though, and i think of them as a family of sorts.

honestly, i feel like i barely have anything to say about this one. you know mewtwo, the genetic experiment, the result of scientists attempting to clone the mythical pokemon mew to create the most powerful pokemon of all time. you know that it destroyed the lab it was born in and was taken in by team rocket before it rebelled against them too. and you probably know that it resides in cerulean cave where it waits for a trainer powerful enough to stand by its side to find and capture it.

yeah, specifically i'm the mewtwo from the rby games as well as the first anime movie. there are a couple other mewtwos out there, but i'm this one.

i don't even have an interesting journey in figuring out i was kin with it. i always liked it just fine and then one day i was like "huh, wait, i'm like, kin with it, right?" and that was that.

snowfall frost is the ebenezer scrooge stand-in character in the mlp:fim episode a hearth's warming tail portrayed by starlight glimmer. the episode shows starlight initially indifferent to hearth's warming and uninterested in joining her friends in celebrating until twilight reads her snowfall frost's story.

it follows the same general structure of most "a christmas carol" plots, although snowfall frost is not only spiteful towards the holiday, but is actively in the middle of creating a spell to eliminate it altogether when she is visited by the three spirits.

she is reminded of her own troubled past, when she was chastised for focusing on celebration rather than magic studies, as well as the present where her assistant, snowdash, is lightly jabbing at her boss's curmudgeonly nature with her friends, and the future which is one of despair and eternal snow due to her spell successfully ridding the world of hearth's warming.

she obviously has a turn of heart and joins the party at the end when she realizes that the frivolities that she used to disregard actually meant something to ponies, that they represented love and friendship and community.

i actually headcanon that snowfall frost was real, and that she's an ancestor of starlight glimmer herself. i have my own design for what snowfall would look like if she wasn't being played by starlight.

i'll admit now that while i feel the closest connection to snowfall frost, i also generally feel something kin-like about the plot of a christmas carol and most interpretations/parodies. i don't want to outright claim that i am kin with ebenezer scrooge as a separate entity from snowfall and i don't think that whatever i feel towards him or other scrooge stand-ins usurps her place as my primary representative kin here, right? it's complicated.

basically i really like a christmas carol and i see characters like scrooge and go "that's me". but snowfall frost is the most me.

the SOUL

hm. so. the soul, right.

originally, i thought i was kin with noelle. things lined up really well: i'm kin with a lot of characters with christian ties, sometimes angelic in nature and she's also an accidental glitch hunter with ties to gaster, whom i have always felt extremely drawn to. it was easy to add her to my list, but i always admitted that it was tentative at best and that really she never felt like "me".

so, i've never really felt all that comfortable with suselle as a ship. my boyfriend kins kris, and we both got really invested in kriselle instead, not just because we kin them but because of the ship itself and the text surrounding it. of course i always acknowledged noelle's huge crush on susie - it's like, her most noticeable character trait. but i'd just ignore it, i didn't have any emotion about it whatsoever. it never made me feel anything, not the way you'd expect someone who kins noelle to feel about it.

when chapters 3 and 4 of deltarune released, i was fucked. LOL.

during pretty much the entire section taking place in noelle's house, with her and susie flirting and being romantic, i felt something really "wrong" about it. something felt so grossly Off and i couldn't explain why when, ostensibly, i was noelle. it was supposed to feel good - not dark and weird. it wasn't supposed to hurt in my gut. i described some part of this feeling as "longing".

i mulled this the fuck over. i connected some dots. the connection between gaster, glitches in the system, kris in general, a longing for noelle that i couldn't properly explain, and the absolutely wrenching feeling i got seeing kris interact with the player. it all pointed to... well, the soul, i guess.

this is a weird thing to be kin with, i'll admit. we don't really know anything about it, but my sneaking suspicion is that it's a character with its own goals and wants just like everyone else in the game. not a lot of people treat it as anything but a stand-in for the player, but i find it telling that we only have a set amount of dialogue options when speaking for kris and especially so that we are forced towards a specific end when placed inside the closet. we as players don't know why the soul would want to strum the guitar and alert noelle and susie to our presence - but the soul certainly seems to.

if kris doesn't have a choice as to what they do and are at the mercy of the soul, then the soul is in the exact same boat - being puppeted by us. we're given narrow choices, sure, but it's up to us to pick. the soul wants snowgrave route to happen, i think. that's a strange thought. i'm getting a bit game theory over here but i hope i'm making sense. this all seems really clear to me.

um, but, i guess that's all i've got for now. i'm pretty damn sure i'm the soul. i have a fair bit more predictions of the plot based on my own feelings on this, so if things start to steer way off course from that, i might have to figure something else out but we'll see.

dcomcu

all this talk about dcomcu, but what actually is it?

dcomcu is my personal project, still in its extremely early stages, that crosses over 6 different dcom (disney channel original movie) franchises into one world. sometimes i might also use the word to refer to those 6 dcom franchises as a group, since i'm also often thinking about them individually as films.

the included franchises are as follows:
• sky high*
• high school musical
• camp rock
• teen beach
• descendants
• zombies

* i am aware that sky high is not a disney channel original movie and was instead theatrically released. my first and best argument to this is: it's my project and i decide what to include. but if that isn't enough: neither are a few of the films included in definitively "dcom" franchises. high school musical 3 was theatrically rleased, and descendants: rise of red was first released on disney+. furthermore, sharpay's fabulous adventure was first released on VHS, and descendants: wicked world was a webseries first released on youtube. i, like many kids, first watched sky high on disney channel so it has this association to me.

this all started in june of last year (2024). me and my boyfriend, conway, had been working slowly but surely on watching every single disney movie using a randomizer wheel i made. i'd been excited for a while for the wheel to land on sky high and when it finally did, i brought him as well as my friend eddie along for the ride. the feeling it gave me immediately launched me into insisting that they both follow through and watch more of my favorite dcoms with me. teen beach was the final but arguably most important addition to the lineup as it was the only one i hadn't actually seen prior.
